Why This? Why Now?

After writing a monthly column for a local newspaper for many years, I had to quit in order to start a full-time job, set up a new household and get our kids started in new schools and daycare. But I missed writing for the sake of writing. So here I am -- trying my hand at blogging. I don't expect that this will be a place where I have updates about my kids for my relatives to see. My girls will, of course, factor into my writing and may even be the subjects of posts. But by and large, this space is for me to get what's in my head down on "paper". We'll see what comes of it!
